HR Assistant
Careerscape is recruiting on behalf of a fast-growing distributed SaaS company for a Remote HR Assistant. This role supports onboarding coordination and HRIS data entry, offering broad exposure across the employee lifecycle while working closely with HR, IT, and hiring managers in a remote-first, people-focused culture.
About the role
Day to day, you will keep new hire paperwork moving, ensure HRIS records are accurate and current, and act as a friendly first point of contact for employees navigating onboarding questions. This role suits someone who is detail-oriented, comfortable juggling multiple checklists, and energized by helping people feel welcomed and set up for success from day one.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate end-to-end onboarding logistics for new hires including offer letters, paperwork, and welcome communications
- Enter and maintain accurate employee data in the HRIS system
- Track onboarding milestones and follow up with new hires and hiring managers to keep timelines on schedule
- Process background checks, I-9 verification, and other pre-employment compliance steps
- Respond to employee questions about onboarding, benefits enrollment, and company policies
- Assist with scheduling orientation sessions and new hire training
- Maintain organized digital personnel files in compliance with company and legal recordkeeping requirements
- Support HR team with reporting, audits, and data cleanup projects within the HRIS
- Help coordinate offboarding tasks including exit paperwork and system deactivations
- Assist with ad hoc HR administrative projects as needed
Requirements
- 1 to 3 years of experience in an HR, onboarding, or administrative support role
- Hands-on experience with an HRIS platform such as Workday, BambooHR, ADP, or similar
- Strong attention to detail and comfort with high-volume data entry
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential employee information with discretion
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple onboarding timelines at once
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
- Comfortable working independently in a fully remote, distributed team environment
- Associate degree or equivalent experience preferred; HR certification a plus
Pay
The salary range for this role is $55,000 - $65,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
