Housing Program Case Aide

About the role

NYAP is seeking a Housing Program Case Aide for immediate employment in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate must have reliable transportation and carry 100,000/300,000 bodily liability car insurance. The position is full-time, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and Saturday hours.

Responsibilities

  • Actively supports, represents, and extends the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
  • Aid housing advocates to provide in-home supportive services, community resource referrals, advocacy, and other social service interventions to the clients.
  • Communicate regularly with program participants via phone, virtually and in person, documenting each interaction following program guidelines and expectations.
  • Conduct housing searches, reach out to community resources and assist program participants to connect to resources in their communities.
  • Aid housing advocates to complete housing applications with the clients, review rental agreements and accompany clients to view rental units.
  • Follow-up with clients to review individual service plan implementation.
  • Aid housing advocates to obtain furniture and utilities for the program participants.
  • Complete all required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Participate in program related training.
  • Completing all other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree preferred or two years of college coursework
  • Two years of work experience working in direct service strongly preferred
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with the Chicagoland area strongly preferred
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Reliable personal transportation
  • Good driving record
  • Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury liability

Qualifications

  • Minimum qualifications include:
  • Associate’s degree preferred or two years of college coursework
  • Two years of work experience working in direct service strongly preferred

Pay

Hourly Rate: 20.00/hour

Schedule

8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and Saturday hours as needed.
