About the role
NYAP is seeking a Housing Program Case Aide to support the mission of making a meaningful difference in the lives of youth and families in Rockford-Alphine, IL.
Responsibilities
- Actively supports, represents, and extends the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
- Assist housing advocates to provide in-home supportive services, community resource referrals, advocacy, and other social service interventions to the clients.
- Communicate regularly with program participants via phone, virtually and in person, documenting each interaction following program guidelines and expectations.
- Conduct housing searches, reach out to community resources and assist program participants to connect to resources in their communities.
- Aid housing advocates to complete housing applications with the clients, review rental agreements and accompany clients to view rental units.
- Follow-up with clients to review individual service plan implementation.
- Aid housing advocates to obtain furniture and utilities for the program participants.
- Complete all required documentation in a timely manner.
- Participate in program related training.
- Completing all other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree preferred or two years of college coursework
- Two years of work experience working in direct service strongly preferred
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish strongly preferred
- Familiarity with the Chicagoland area strongly preferred
- Ability to drive own vehicle within service area required
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable personal transportation
- Good driving record
- Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury liability
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s degree preferred or two years of college coursework

Pay
Hourly Rate: 20.00/hour
Schedule
8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and Saturday hours as needed.
