About the role

This is a permanent, part-time (20 hours per week) position based at our service in Southampton. Core hours are between 9am and 5pm. You’ll need an Enhanced DBS check, which we pay for.

As our Housing and Property Lead, you’ll focus on tenancy support for our customers, ensuring their homes are safe and well maintained. You’ll provide a housing management service, supporting customers to manage and maintain their tenancy and rent accounts with the aim of helping them move on to secure, long-term accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Manage a housing caseload to ensure properties are safe, well-maintained, and fully occupied.
• Support customers with tenancy management, rent accounts, and housing benefit claims to help them transition to long-term accommodation.
• Engage and involve customers in their tenancies to ensure their properties are homes they can be proud of.
• Assist customers with housing benefit claims, ensuring these are received on their rent account.
• Issue and sign warning letters and notices when needed, which may lead to attending court.
• Turn around vacant or void rooms, bed spaces, or properties within set timescales to ensure maximum occupancy.
• Ensure health and safety compliance and that maintenance standards are met.
• Take a lead role within the team, offering guidance and support to colleagues.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the business and with external partners.

Requirements

• Experience in managing a housing caseload and handling landlord and housing management duties.
• Knowledge of re-letting rooms or units, collecting rents, and taking formal tenancy action when needed.
• Ability to work on your own initiative and positively influence people from diverse backgrounds.
• Confidence in working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
