About the role

This position involves direct, on-site customer service and support for housing management programs. You will assist Active Duty, retired, and civilian personnel transferring to the installation with housing referrals, relocation assistance, and move-in/move-out inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual housing referral counseling and relocation assistance.
  • Conduct recurring market research to maintain current knowledge of off-post privately-owned rental housing conditions and costs.
  • Perform move-in and move-out inspections with Soldiers, prepare inventory/condition reports, and issue keys.
  • Prepare reports concerning housing, such as occupancy, vacancy, and maintenance reports.
  • Review housing applications for required documentation.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, including a background investigation.
  • Appointment may include a one-year probationary period.
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) travel may be required up to 5%.
  • A Government Driver’s License is required to operate vehicles.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications

To qualify, you must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience at the GS-05 level or equivalent, including:
    • Performing on-site housing inspections.
    • Reviewing housing applications for required documentation.
    • Preparing housing-related reports (e.g., occupancy, vacancy, maintenance).
  • Education: One full year of graduate-level education in a relevant field (e.g., Real Estate, Property Management, Business Administration).
  • Superior Academic Achievement (SAA): Completion of a bachelor’s degree with SAA in a qualifying field, based on:
    • Class standing (upper third of graduating class).
    • Grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher (overall or in the final 2 years) or 3.5 or higher in the major field.
    • Membership in an approved national scholastic honor society (listed by the Association of College Honor Societies).
  • Combination of Education and Experience: A mix of education and experience may qualify if the total meets 100% of the requirements.

Foreign education must be evaluated by a private organization specializing in foreign credential interpretation to ensure U.S. equivalency.

Additional Information

  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must certify Selective Service registration.
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Direct deposit of pay is mandatory.
  • Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement.
  • Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, recruitment/relocation incentives, and student loan repayment may be authorized.
  • Salary includes locality pay or Local Market Supplement and may be negotiable for candidates new to federal service.
  • Credit for prior non-Federal or military service may be authorized for leave accrual rates.
