Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the Housekeeping department.
  • Follow all appropriate policies and procedures (e.g., key control, lost and found).
  • Clean and maintain all guestrooms to property-specific standards.
  • Develop and implement procedures to ensure housekeeping activities and services meet or exceed established standards and goals.
  • Conduct daily inspections of serviced guestrooms, front-of-house areas, storage rooms, and relevant back-of-house areas.
  • Assist in managing the departmental budget, monitor revenue, expenses, and labor costs.
  • Report all unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and functioning and used only as intended.
  • Maintain department equipment and supply inventory levels appropriate to property requirements.
  • Advise guests, clients, and team members on housekeeping matters.
  • Evaluate patterns or trends in guest complaints to plan and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide regular and ongoing communication with all departments to keep staff informed of updates, changes, or problematic situations.
  • Ensure the security of all housekeeping supplies, equipment, and inventory by establishing and ensuring adherence to security standards.
  • Participate in the property’s Manager on Duty program as needed.
  • Ensure timely and courteous follow-through on all client, guest, and team member requests.
  • Select, supervise, train, develop, schedule, discipline, and counsel staff.
  • Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics that empower and inspire employees to meet and exceed standards.
  • Perform in the capacity of any position supervised as needed.
  • Conduct training on job standards and areas of responsibility as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of housekeeping experience in a similar environment required.
  • Prior housekeeping lead/supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand Spanish and English.
  • General management skills, including time management, information analysis, planning and organizing, decision-making, problem-solving, and delivery of results.
  • Financial management skills, including budget management, expense control, and analysis of Profit and Loss statements.
