Housekeeping Supervisor

We are looking to add a hands-on Housekeeping Supervisor to our team. This role requires a blend of custodial knowledge and management capabilities, with personal accountability for the cleanliness of each guest room and setting a strong example for your team. Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will collaborate with multiple departments to ensure guest satisfaction. Flexible scheduling availability may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic housekeeping duties, including changing sheets, arranging towels, restocking toilet supplies, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning, and rearranging rooms after guest check-out.
  • Deliver linens to the laundry department.
  • Inspect rooms and public spaces daily to ensure compliance with brand and Island Hospitality Management (IHM) standards.
  • Train new housekeeping staff on guest service guarantees and service standards.
  • Participate in preventative maintenance programs.
  • Monitor and replenish stocking levels of all consumables on housekeeping carts.
  • Notify supervisors of any damages, deficits, or disturbances.
  • Communicate with the maintenance team regarding reported maintenance requests.
  • Coordinate with the front desk team to confirm rooms ready for new arrivals.

Requirements

  • Highly motivated team player with strong initiative and a drive for achievement.
  • Ability to handle workplace problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving issues.
  • Ability to work well under stressful situations.
  • Approachable and available to guests while providing excellent service.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 25 pounds frequently.

Scheduled hours vary based on guest occupancy, season, staffing, and other factors. Island Hospitality cannot guarantee a specific number of work hours per week.
