About the role

Homewood Mountain Resort, a four-season destination on the west shore of Lake Tahoe, is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to join the Facilities Department. This position oversees the daily operations of the housekeeping team, ensuring exceptional cleanliness and presentation standards.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping operations, including staff assignments, workflow planning, training, coaching, and performance oversight.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop housekeeping team members while promoting a culture of teamwork, accountability, and service excellence.
  • Conduct daily inspections of public areas, restrooms, offices, locker rooms, employee spaces, and back-of-house areas to ensure cleanliness and presentation standards are consistently achieved.
  • Monitor quality and productivity standards and provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and corrective action when necessary.
  • Aid in recruiting, onboarding, training, scheduling, and timekeeping for housekeeping staff.
  • Collaborate with the Facilities Maintenance Manager to ensure adequate staffing, supplies, equipment readiness, and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain organized housekeeping storage rooms, supply areas, linen inventories, and laundry operations.
  • Oversee routine and deep cleaning programs, seasonal cleaning projects, event setup and breakdown, and special assignments.
  • Identify, report, and follow up on maintenance, safety, and operational concerns to ensure a safe and well-maintained environment.
  • Complete inspections, departmental records, checklists, and reporting as required.
  • Lead by example by actively participating in housekeeping duties and supporting the team as operational needs require.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two (2) years of housekeeping, facilities, hospitality, or related supervisory experience preferred.
  • Previous experience leading teams in a luxury hospitality, private club, resort, hotel, or high-end residential environment strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of commercial cleaning methods, products, equipment, and industry best practices.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, train, develop, and hold team members accountable.
  • Ability to establish priorities, delegate responsibilities, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Working knowledge of workplace safety practices, chemical handling procedures, and OSHA-related standards.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with members, guests, vendors, and fellow team members.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and make informed operational decisions.
  • Proficiency with basic computer systems, scheduling platforms, inspection reports, and departmental documentation.
  • Valid driver's license in good standing.
