Part-time position at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Worcester Auburn.
About the role
The Housekeeping Supervisor directly supervises and coordinates work activities of the Housekeeping staff in the hotel.
Responsibilities
- Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
- Maintain complete knowledge of room status; verify A.M. report, report discrepant rooms, and prioritize check-out rooms.
- Ensure assigned staff have reported to work; document late or absent employees.
- Coordinate breaks for assigned staff.
- Prepare and distribute assignment sheets; review priorities and communicate changes throughout the shift.
- Assign guest room keys and beepers to staff; maintain accurate records and ensure key security.
- Inspect supply levels of floor closets and assign personnel to rectify deficiencies.
- Check Room Attendants' carts for proper supplies, neatness, and mechanical problems.
- Inspect rooms cleaned by Room Attendants using a designated checklist; relay deficiencies for correction.
- Update room status after approving cleanliness and condition per departmental standards.
- Check vacant and DND rooms; verify and update status throughout the shift.
- Mark dirty sheets in randomly selected rooms and follow up to ensure sheets are changed.
- Counsel Room Attendants on discrepancies.
- Inspect public areas, bathrooms, fitness center, pool area, offices, and service areas after cleaning; relay deficiencies for correction.
- Complete work orders for maintenance repairs and submit to Housekeeping Clerk; contact Engineering for urgent repairs.
- Conduct staff training as assigned.
- Provide feedback on staff performance to the manager.
- Report disciplinary problems to the manager and participate in employee counseling.
- Document pertinent information in the department log book.
- Complete all paperwork and closing duties before leaving.
- Review assignment status and follow-up actions with the manager or oncoming supervisor.
- Check P.M. reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Complete night counts in accordance with departmental standards.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
- Six months to one year of related supervisory experience.
- Proficiency in English.
