About the role

As a Housekeeping Manager at Best Western Plus Hacienda Hotel, you will ensure efficient operations by overseeing housekeeping associates, conducting room inspections, and training Room Attendants to uphold our cleanliness standards. You'll manage equipment and supply upkeep, coordinate room readiness with other departments, and address guest requests promptly. Your role is vital in creating a bright, welcoming environment that leaves a lasting, positive impression on every guest.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect all rooms and ensure all cleaning, sanitizing, linens, supplies, and overall presentation of the room comply with company and brand standards.
  • Provide follow-up training on advanced housekeeping duties, focusing on room needs including linens, towel arrangement, restocking toilet supplies, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning, and rearranging rooms after guest checkout.
  • Ensure timely delivery and coordination with the laundry department.
  • Provide refresher training to staff as needed or when processes change.
  • Participate in preventative maintenance programs, including timely and documented reporting of items requiring attention.
  • Monitor stocking levels of all consumables and restock housekeeping carts as needed.
  • Maintain documented and accurate inventory of all housekeeping supplies, linens, and restocking items.
  • Notify the General Manager of any damages, deficits, or disturbances.
  • Communicate with the maintenance team regarding maintenance requests reported by housekeeping team members.
  • Coordinate with the front desk team regarding rooms ready for new arrivals.
  • Oversee Housekeeping operations to maintain cleanliness, service, and product quality standards in guest rooms, public spaces, restrooms, offices, and banquet/meeting/conference rooms.
  • Assist in ensuring operations stay within labor budget, including meal penalties, overtime, employee schedules, and staffing.
  • Perform other duties as required, including cross-training.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in housekeeping within the hospitality industry.
  • Ability to maintain effective and consistent work performance.
  • Thorough understanding of hotel regulations, operational processes, policies, and obligations.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to understand and follow applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong communication skills, both one-on-one and in group settings, with effective listening and response abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
  • Ability to multitask and handle pressure.
  • Ability to follow instructions and accept feedback.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to delegate, resolve conflict, and respect diversity; ability to train and mentor adults.

Schedule

This position may require working weekends, holidays, or variable shifts based on business needs. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
