Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and direct the operations of the housekeeping and laundry departments, including staffing, budgets, and more
- Meet the laundry and housekeeping needs of the facility, managing the department within labor and supply budget guidelines
- Maintain inventory of linens, cleaning supplies, and equipment
- Supervise and train housekeeping and laundry staff to ensure high-quality work and excellent customer service
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules and protocols to ensure a clean and safe environment
- Monitor and maintain the condition of facility equipment and machinery, reporting any issues or concerns to management
- Cookordination with other departments to ensure efficient and effective operations
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in related field preferred
- Minimum one (1) year experience in a supervisory capacity
- Training in the operation of laundry equipment, practices, and procedures is preferred
- Knowledgeable in building cleaning and floor maintenance techniques
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Ability to make independent decisions and deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public
- Knowledge of housekeeping and laundry practices and procedures as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines governing housekeeping functions in long-term care facilities
