Housekeeping & Contract Watch
About the role
Under direct supervision, performs various custodial duties in the care, cleaning and maintenance of assigned Grafton buildings. Reports to a Manager or an Administrator. Works as needed during work project schedules to be “eye and ears” for Contractors working on Grafton premises ensuring safety of clients, staff and Contractors. Participates in Training to know and identify the Richmond Campus Buildings/Grounds and to understand Richmond Campus client elopement security risks. Serves as guard duty of contractor presence on campus.
Responsibilities
- Performs routine custodial and housekeeping duties required to maintain and keep a clean and sanitary environment in assigned Grafton buildings.
- Polishes furniture; vacuums floors, washes desks, walls and railings; dusts shelves; washes windows; and removes trash and debris.
- Cleans bathrooms to include shower and bath stalls, and cleaning mirrors. Takes out all recyclables.
- Cleans kitchen appliances, floors, counters and tables. Strips and waxes floors.
- Determines and obtains equipment and cleaning supplies needed; and loads onto cleaning cart.
- Restocks supplies such as toilet paper, and paper towels. Identifies needed supplies and completes requisitions for same. Records incoming supplies.
- Reviews contractor review sheet with contractors. Warns of unanticipated events as they occur. Communicates to the proper managers/staff if a client enters a dangerous situation/work zone for the safety of the client/staff and contractor.
- Remains in contact with maintenance supervisor about any unanticipated events, change of plans that the contractor may encounter.
- Flexibility of work schedule to possible afterhours contractor watch work possibly nights/weekends also could refer to housekeeping for any special cleaning/waxing needed at school while clients are not present.
- Completes records, forms & files any needed paperwork.
- Aids in emergency work situations as skill level allows.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED. Custodial work or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Qualifications
- Compensation: Starting at $15.20 up to $21.05 commensurate with experience and qualifications.
