Housekeeper/Custodian

Targeted salary up to $13.75 per hour, based on experience. Benefits eligible.

Schedule

7:30 am - 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday. Position requires working irregular hours and overtime. May be designated as an "essential position" during emergency closures or inclement weather, requiring overnight stays on campus. Includes a rotating weekend shift schedule. Travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine cleaning in offices and public access areas within OU Residential communities.
• Mops, sweeps, waxes, and polishes floors.
• Cleans and dusts furniture and equipment.
• Locks and unlocks offices, classrooms, and conference areas.
• Collects and disposes of wastepaper and refuse.
• Vacuums carpeted areas.
• Maintains lavatories and rest rooms in a sanitary condition.
• Performs Make Ready services, including:
  • Deep cleans residential bathrooms (toilets, showers, bathtubs, sinks, mirrors, light fixtures, and all surface areas).
  • Replaces shower curtains.
  • Deep cleans kitchens (inside and outside of refrigerators, microwaves, stovetops, ovens, and dishwashers).
  • Removes spills, burn-on food, grease, and other items.
  • Deep cleans and removes trash from cabinetry and furniture.
  • Deep cleans ceiling fans, blinds, light fixtures, vents, and all surface areas.
  • Deep cleans doors, walls, windows, and floors.
  • Removes visible spots, stickers, residue, etc.
  • Sanitizes both sides of mattresses.
  • Performs carpet care, including spot cleaning, stain extraction, and shampooing.
  • Completes stain treatment and shampooing of residential furniture, including vacuuming under cushions.
  • Adjusts and stages furniture.
• May shovel snow from doorways and sidewalks.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Valid Oklahoma Driver's License to drive University vehicles or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire date.
• Hiring contingent upon a background check and driver's license verification.
