Housekeeper (2026-0147)

Job Overview

The position involves a variety of housekeeping duties in and around the hospital to maintain a clean and sanitary environment. Additional duties may include assisting with patient room cleaning, collecting and transferring waste and linens, and performing special cleaning assignments.

Responsibilities

• Assists in maintaining a clean and sanitary hospital environment.
• Cleans assigned areas according to department procedures.
• Collects and transfers waste and soiled linens to designated areas.
• Performs daily patient room cleaning and patient room discharge cleaning.
• Empties waste receptacles and linen holders in designated areas.
• Cleans trash/linen collection carts to ensure they are never used in the hospital.
• Sweeps, dust mops, and wet mops floors in designated areas.
• Washes walls, ceilings, and windows by hand.
• Washes sinks, cabinets, and other plumbing fixtures.
• Refills disposable supplies such as towels, soap, and toilet paper.
• Maintains quality standards and reports repair/maintenance needs.
• Completes special cleaning assignments as assigned.
• Ensures adequate staffing levels and assists staff as needed.
• Answers telephone calls and responds to inquiries in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• Communicates effectively in English.
• Demonstrates good interpersonal skills in a diverse population.
• Able to work on assigned shifts, including weekends.
• Works independently.

Pay and Schedule

The pay range for this position is from $23.01 to $36.57 per hour, with a date of evaluation (DOE).
