About the role
We are seeking a highly organized and compassionate Community Living Manager (CLM) / House Manager to oversee daily operations and provide support to residents in our well-maintained residential homes. Responsible for the health and welfare of the Persons Supported, you will create a "family" type home atmosphere, manage all activities of the home including food, supplies, budgeting, and recreation, and act as part of a team to fill in gaps during emergency situations. You will oversee the work and notes of 2-5 Direct Support Professionals.
Responsibilities
- Ensure health & safety of Persons Supported by:
- Providing adequate exercise and maintaining up-to-date posting of medical/emergency information.
- Ensuring the house is hazard-free and reporting maintenance needs promptly.
- Training residents in fire evacuation and documenting fire drills.
- Maintaining a clean and sanitary environment.
- Foster a family atmosphere through interaction, counseling, outings, and conversation.
- Meet the needs of Persons Supported through:
- Training and supervising cleaning, meal preparation, shopping, and personal hygiene.
- Implementing and managing therapies and training at home.
- Meet monthly with Residential Coordinator (RC) and Case Manager (CM) to discuss home-related positives and negatives.
- Develop menus and shop for groceries with Persons Supported according to special diets, proper nutrition, and within food budget and food stamp allowances. Post menus and special diets for easy access.
- Plan and follow through with regularly scheduled recreational activities at the house and within the local community; document activities in Timas system.
- Prepare a weekly activity sheet for each person supported and submit copies to Residential Admin.
- Take monthly inventory of first-aid supplies and replenish as needed.
- Maintain house records in an orderly and up-to-date manner in respective binders (e.g., residential file, personal binder, ISP red binder).
- Schedule all staffing needs monthly; responsible for replacement staff or working open shifts when there are call outs.
- Train residents in the use of public transportation or secure transportation as needed (KAT Bus, taxi, Uber).
- Administer medications and other medical treatments; maintain weekly counts, re-order as necessary, and report medication errors.
- Conduct monthly med audits during the QA-ing of medications.
- Ensure accuracy of the weekly allowance in Timas and the money box; document receipts immediately after transactions.
- Help with checking change, cashing checks, and educating Persons Supported on financial/spending skills.
- Attend circles of support and other necessary trainings for Persons Supported.
- Provide monthly staff and person-supported house meetings.
- Maintain the company vehicle, including regular cleaning, monthly mileage reports, and prompt reporting of vehicle problems.
- Familiarize yourself with licensure, fire marshal, and quality assurance standards; maintain the home within these standards.
- Work closely with pertinent staff as a team member to ensure the highest standards and best quality of life for Persons Supported.
- Communicate immediately with RC and appropriate staff regarding any concerns or problems for both staff and Persons Supported.
- Complete employee performance evaluations for those you supervise with the assistance of your RC before the due date.
- Complete at least three Personal Outcomes Measures Interviews per year.

- Maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times.
- Adhere to work schedules, break times, and lunch hours as designated by Sertoma Center.
- Perform work assignments with minimal supervision.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with co-workers and Persons Supported.
- Regular attendance is required; more than one unplanned absence in a two-month period is considered excessive.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by leadership.
Requirements
- High-school diploma or GED; advanced degree preferred.
- 2+ years of Direct Support Professional (DSP) or caregiver experience.
- Experience working in a residential setting with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
- Familiarity with relevant DIDD/ECF regulations and standards.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Valid Tennessee Driver’s License with no more than 3 moving violations on your MVR within the past 3 years.
- U.S. work authorization.
- Able to pass a drug test at any time.
