Hostess/Host, Server

Key Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and courteously as they arrive.
• Provide guests with accurate wait time estimates and manage the waitlist.
• Escort guests to their assigned tables and provide menus.
• Inform guests of the restaurant's services, offerings, and any special promotions.
• Manage reservations and seating arrangements using the restaurant's reservation system.
• Cook up special seating requests and monitor dining room activity.
• Address guest inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints promptly and professionally.
• Ensure that guests are comfortable while waiting and provide updates on table availability.
• Offer assistance to guests with special needs or requests.
• Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operations.
• Aid in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the front-of-house area.
• Support servers and bussers by providing extra hands as needed during peak times.

Qualifications

• Experience: Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality setting, is preferred.
• Familiarity: Familiarity with reservation and seating systems is advantageous.
• Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills; excellent organizational and multitasking abilities; ability to remain calm and professional under pressure; good physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Personal Attributes: Professional appearance and demeanor; dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic; positive attitude and willingness to assist with various tasks as needed; friendly and approachable with a customer-focused mindset.
