About the venue

The Sports & Social Club is a relaxed sports bar offering classic pub food and tremendous sports viewing in a comfortable tavern setting. Serving lunch, dinner, and a dynamic nightlife, the venue also features bowling, live entertainment, and The Eagle—a fully equipped private party room. The restaurant and bar are equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including an ultimate sports viewing room with two 100-inch high-definition projectors and digital surround sound, making it the perfect place to watch sports and party with friends.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and take messages/reservations.
• Maintain an accurate wait when necessary.
• Welcome guests upon arrival and bid them goodbye to create a lasting positive experience.
• Greet guests in a friendly and upbeat manner to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Communicate effectively with all guests and report problems to management immediately.
• Coordinate seating arrangements to provide fast and courteous service.
• Occasionally bus tables to expedite efficient seating of waiting guests.
• Anticipate the needs of scheduled special parties.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience with customer service and/or hosting.
• Must speak fluent English; other languages preferred.
• Strong communication skills to interact with guests, employees, and third parties professionally.
• Reading and writing abilities for recording and reviewing reservations and seating charts.
• Basic mathematical skills for frequent use.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

Skills & Physical Demands

• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to carry or lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Handling objects (including food and utensils), products, and operating phones.
• Standing, bending, stooping, and kneeling as needed.
• Ability to remain in one location (entrance or exit) for long periods and move safely/efficiently throughout the facility.
