Host, Four Corner Steakhouse

About the role

Candidate acts as a host/hostess for the assigned restaurant by taking reservations, greeting guests, and seating guests in a positive, friendly manner.

Responsibilities

• Maintains full knowledge of restaurant layout and seats patrons based on seating diagram for assigned outlet.
• Maintains a thorough knowledge of menu items for each outlet.
• Communicates to management in a timely fashion any guest compliments or complaints.
• Maintains a positive and friendly demeanor, has excellent communication skills, and works with the public in a large dining room.
• Assists in the restaurant as needed and performs all other duties as assigned.
• Works nights, weekends, holidays, and special events.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• One year of food or hospitality service experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals, and menus.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Must be able to learn reservation management system, phone system, and iPad or other electronics used to log reservations, special requests, seating assignments, and staffing.
• Must be able to obtain appropriate licensing.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• The noise level in the work environment is loud.
• There is smoking in the Casino, and therefore the environment may be smoky.
• Must be able to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods of time.
• Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms.
• Required to talk and hear.
• May be required to lift up to 25 lbs independently and more than 25 lbs with assistance.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision.
