About the role
SHARE! Your Heart & Home with a high school exchange student. SHARE! students, aged 15-18 from various countries such as France, Germany, Spain, China, Brazil, Poland, Italy, Mexico, Japan, and South Korea, are looking for a family to host them.
Responsibilities
- Provide a safe and welcoming environment for the exchange student
- Attend the local high school with the exchange student
- Help the exchange student adjust to life in the new country
- Ensure the exchange student has access to medical care if needed
- Support the exchange student in their studies and extracurricular activities
- Engage in cultural exchanges and activities with the exchange student
Requirements
- Be a U.S. citizen or legal resident
- Have a stable home environment
- Willingness to provide a warm and supportive home environment
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Willingness to participate in cultural exchanges and activities
Qualifications
- Experience living abroad or with international students is a plus
- Flexible schedule to accommodate the exchange student's needs
- Willingness to learn about and respect different cultures
