Responsibilities

  • Complete routine operational tasks under direct supervision.
  • Support departmental change efforts and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop foundational knowledge of the hospitality industry, relevant data services, and industry practices.
  • Establish effective working relationships and learn from subject-matter experts.
  • Apply knowledge of event management software and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to:
    • Schedule Conference Center meeting requests.
    • Respond to routine inquiries.
    • Distribute daily reports by email.
    • Aid with catering services and ensure conference rooms are ready for meetings and events.
    • Support room setup and provide event materials, including:
      • Easels
      • Flip charts
      • Whiteboards
      • Table linens
    • Provide basic audiovisual equipment support as needed.
    • Maintain an accurate inventory of supplies and linens.
    • Cooking and cleaning of linens.
    • Coordinate dry-cleaning services for linens.
    • Conduct weekly inspections of meeting rooms and contact the appropriate department when maintenance or service is required.
    • Provide coverage and assistance to the Hospitality and Office Services teams as needed.
    • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Flexibility and the ability to adjust quickly to changing tasks, assignments, and priorities.

  • Ability to identify challenges and develop appropriate solutions.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, General Education Diploma (GED), higher secondary education, or equivalent work experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in hospitality or a related industry is preferred.
