The Hospitality Assistant position exists to provide stewardship for all aspects of serving couples through food service and housekeeping. This position may qualify for a hiring bonus. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Food Service: Prepares meals from predetermined menus for intensives, getaways, and special eventsServes, interacts, and is sensitive to the needs of guests and visiting staffMaintains cleanliness of kitchen and interior and exterior areas of Hospitality Center dailyObserves and follows all Health Department CodesMaintains ServSafe food manager certification at all timesAttends and maintains Chemical Training Housekeeping: Maintains exceptional cleanliness of interior and exterior guest lodging spaces; on a daily and weekly basis to include bedrooms, bathrooms, sitting areas, and patios, always following established FMI standardsMaintains the cleanliness of guest and staff spaces throughout the property, including, administrative offices, counseling rooms, bathrooms, and chapel. General cleaning includes but is not limited to dusting furniture, vacuuming, mopping floors, cleaning windows, stocking amenities, and laundering and placing kitchen, bath, and bed linensIs attentive to the condition of the physical property and systems and quickly reports all maintenance concerns to General ManagerIs sensitive to know when areas are off limits for cleaning due to noiseDoes laundry as needed Other Duties/Responsibilities: Performs other duties as required Managerial Breadth/Scope of Job: None Working Environment/Physical Requirements: Must be able to pass a Post Offer Prehire Physical examMust be able to lift up to 40lbsMust be able to push/pull up to 25lbsMust be able to bend and reach above headRequires repetitive tasks/motions, good eye-hand-foot coordination, and good manual dexterityFrequently requires bending, kneeling, crouching, and reachingSome exposure to gases, odors, fumes, cleaning chemicals, bodily waste, dust, and sharp utensilsOccasional holiday and weekend work is required Job Qualifications/Requirements Character/Spiritual: Exemplifies Ephesians 5:1-2, “Therefore be imitators of God as dear children and walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us...” Pursues the Great Commission given by Jesus Christ in Matthew 28:19-20, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ; maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Focus; adheres to the Standard of Moral Conduct and Statement of Faith; upholds Focus on the Family's ministry in prayer Prays personally for Focus on the Family’s staff and constituents and may occasionally lead in a public prayer Engages in Christian ministry Demonstrates behaviors aligned with FOF core values Knowledge/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent1-3 years of experience in food service preparationMust achieve and maintain Serve Safe Certification and Chemical Training Certification Skills, Abilities, and Special Talents/Gifts: Strong customer service and people skillsAbility to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructionsFlexible in adjusting prioritiesAbility to work independently with little immediate supervisionAbility to work with various food preparation machines and equipment, sharp knives, and various chemicals Pay Range: $16.56 to $18.63/hr.
