Hospitality Aide

Non-direct care role designed to support the CNA career pathway. Tasks are performed under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse to ensure patient safety and well-being.

Responsibilities

• Pass ice, water, and distribute snacks to residents; clean nourishment refrigerator(s) and cart(s)
• Assist with passing and retrieving meal trays for cognizant residents; clean dining areas after meals
• Make unoccupied beds and change bed linens
• Organize residents’ drawers, closets, and label all personal items
• Organize shower rooms, clean utility rooms, and maintain adequate inventory
• Provide one-on-one attention to cognitively impaired residents
• Deliver residents’ mail
• Transport wheelchair-bound residents to and from rooms
• Respond to call lights promptly
• Exhibit excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude toward patients
• Assist in the evacuation of patients
• Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation; must remain current during employment
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
• Knowledge of practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines in post-acute care
• Implement and interpret department programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures
• Proficient in competency areas: patient rights, safety, and sanitation
• Maintain professional working relationships with associates, vendors, etc.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and/or confidential information
• Understand and follow company policies, including harassment and compliance procedures
• Display integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care’s Code of Conduct
• Complete mandatory Code of Conduct and compliance training
• Dependable, regular attendance
• Strong reasoning skills and good judgment
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
• Read, write, speak, and understand English
• Physical ability to lift 35 lbs. floor to waist, lift 35 lbs. waist to shoulder, lift and carry 35 lbs., and push/pull 35 lbs.
