Hospitality Aide

About the Role

The Hospitality Aide is responsible for non-direct care activities which may include passing ice, bed making, and passing trays to residents who are able to feed themselves. These tasks are performed under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse to assure patient safety and attain or maintain the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each patient in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation; must remain current during employment
• Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
• Knowledgeable of practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines governing post-acute care facilities
• Implement and interpret departmental programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures
• Perform proficiently in competency areas including patient rights, safety, and sanitation
• Maintain professional working relationships with associates, vendors, etc.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and/or confidential information
• Understand and follow company policies, including harassment and compliance procedures
• Display integrity and professionalism by adhering to the Code of Conduct
• Read, write, speak, and understand English
• Physical ability to:
  • Lift 35 lbs from floor to waist
  • Lift 35 lbs from waist to shoulder
  • Lift and carry 35 lbs
  • Push/pull 35 lbs
  • Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours

Responsibilities

• Pass ice, water, and distribute snacks to residents; clean nourishment refrigerator(s) and cart(s)
• Assist with passing and retrieval of meal trays to cognizant residents and clean dining areas after meals
• Make unoccupied beds and change bed linens
• Organize residents' drawers and closets; label all personal items
• Organize shower rooms and clean utility rooms; ensure adequate inventory
• Provide 1:1 attention to cognitively impaired residents
• Deliver residents' mail
• Transport wheelchair-bound residents to and from rooms
• Respond to call lights promptly
• Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude toward patients
• Assist in the evacuation of patients
• Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
• Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment
• Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
