Shift: Per diem, Monday–Sunday with premium differentials offered. No call required.

About the Role

Hartford Hospital is seeking a per diem Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join their energetic hospitalist team. The successful Advanced Practitioner will provide full-spectrum inpatient care, including triaging, admitting, rounding, discharging, and addressing changes in clinical status. New and experienced providers receive a comprehensive orientation led by exceptional Physician and Advanced Practice Hospitalists.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine physical examinations and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial treatment plans under established guidelines in collaboration with supervising physicians.
  • Develop plans for further evaluation of health needs, including referrals to specialists or other care team members.
  • Provide appropriate treatment for problems within the scope of practice as designated by protocols.
  • Identify problems outside of scope of practice and refer to physicians as needed.

Requirements

  • Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligible).
  • Certified or board-eligible Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
  • 1+ year of experience in an internal medicine or hospitalist setting.
