About the role
A Hospital Unit Service Coordinator manages provider orders including scheduling patient appointments, answers telephones, and interacts with patients, families, MDs and RNs and other departments in person and on the phone. Provides patient care support under the direction of licensed personnel. Cross trains to other units as needed. Maintains a courteous receptive atmosphere for patients, public and other staff throughout the organization. Navigates computer systems in order to complete daily tasks. Schedules procedures in department's Epic Snapboard.

Requirements
- Graduation from high school or equivalent
- Two (2) years previous experience as a unit secretary/coordinator or similar function in a large, complex healthcare environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong data entry skills and/or keyboard training
- Superb customer service skills
- BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date
- Two (2) years college/technical school preferred
- Medical Terminology Certificate preferred
- Prior experience in women and/or infant health preferred
- Proficiency with Epic, UCSD Paging & Scheduling Systems preferred
- Bilingual: Spanish/English preferred
- Database management skills preferred
Qualifications
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs
- Completed CPR Healthcare Provider (AHA or equivalent) within 6 months of hire
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical

Pay
Annual Full Pay Range: $59,863 - $74,437 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hiring Pay Scale: $28.67 - $35.65 / Hour
Schedule
Nights, 12-Hour Shifts, Sunday-Saturday
