Hospital Sales Representative Department: Commercial - Sales Reports To: Regional Business Director Location: Northern North Jersey Summary of Position A growing specialty pharmaceutical company is seeking a Hospital Sales Representative responsible for consistently meeting and exceeding territory sales and performance objectives. The role focuses on driving product adoption through a solutions-oriented, collaborative sales approach. Primary targets include Hospital Accounts, Hospital-affiliated Outpatient Treatment Centers, and their affiliated practitioners, as well as specialty office-based practices within the assigned territory. Position Responsibilities Achieve all territory sales objectives by generating high demand within targeted accounts.Develop, execute, and monitor territory plans, strategically targeting key stakeholders within each account and office to expand product usage and customer base.Advance hospital and specialty customers along the sales continuum and gain prescriber commitments through effective questioning, active listening, and utilization of approved marketing and sales materials.Demonstrate knowledge of promoted products, competitive brands, disease states, patient profiles, and treatment pathways.Succeed in a complex, matrixed selling environment that requires collaboration with cross-functional partners including Market Access, Medical, Marketing, and Operations.Develop strong partnerships with field-based colleagues to ensure appropriate customer support and execution of pull-through strategies.Develop and execute pull-through strategies that increase product adoption and usage in appropriate patients.Utilize data, analytics, and business insights to drive territory strategy and decision-making.Maintain accurate and timely CRM documentation of activities and account-level details.Distribute samples and record sample transactions in accordance with company policy and PDMA guidelines.Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, values, and applicable laws.Manage territory resources, including budgets, speaker program allocations, and samples.Complete all required training and compliance-related activities.Complete administrative responsibilities including call reporting, expense management, and time-off tracking. Candidate Requirements Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.5+ years of pharmaceutical sales experience, including at least 3 years calling on hospital, acute care, and/or outpatient accounts.Documented track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals and earning performance recognition.Account-based selling experience within hospitals, wound care centers, infusion centers, or similar healthcare settings.Experience calling on Infectious Disease, Hospitalists, Critical Care Pulmonologists, Emergency Medicine physicians, and other specialties influencing infusion center or wound care treatment decisions.Experience building advocacy for acute care products within hospital systems.Proven ability to communicate complex scientific and clinical information effectively.Strong understanding of formulary approval processes and experience driving formulary wins.Excellent presentation, organizational, communication, and administrative skills.Experience utilizing CRM systems to manage territory performance.Understanding of Specialty Pharmacy, Specialty Distribution, and Buy & Bill channels strongly preferred.Prior experience launching or promoting newly launched pharmaceutical products preferred.Ability to meet all pre-employment screening and customer credentialing requirements.Valid driver's license and safe driving record. Additional Information Technology: Microsoft Office; Veeva preferred.Travel: Up to 30% overnight travel, depending on business needs, territory geography, and account responsibilities.
