Hospital Reimbursement Specialist

Onsite, Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, with monthly bonus eligibility and many opportunities for advancement.

Responsibilities

• Contact carriers to collect on unpaid facility claims in a timely and accurate manner.
• Submit account corrections and adjustments, manage denials, resolve payment variances, and prepare appeal submissions when required.
• Work with management to identify trends and address root causes of accounts-receivable issues.
• Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure timely account resolution.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year’s experience in health-care collections or a related field, or any combination of education, training, or experience in a health-care business-office environment.
• Familiarity with Commercial, Managed Care, PPO/HMO, Managed Medicare, Managed Medicaid, and Traditional Medicaid/Medicare.
• Understanding of third-party payor rules and regulations.
• Ability to read UB04 forms and understand EOBs.
• Knowledge of payor contracts and ability to verify correct payment by insurance companies.
• Proficiency in identifying next steps for denied or rejected claims.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
• Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Working knowledge of basic medical terminology.

Pay

$22.00 – $26.00 an hour, plus monthly bonus eligibility.
