Casper, Wyoming – Procurement-WyMC Central – Evening shift

Position Summary

This position may be located within a Hospital Facility, Patient Service Center (PSC), In-Office Phlebotomy (IOP), or Mobile Diagnostic Services (MDS). This position may be responsible for providing coverage at multiple locations. Responsibilities include the collection and receipt of biological specimens, their proper entry into the company’s computer system, preparation of samples for analytical testing, and/or distribution of specimens to the appropriate analytical area. This encompasses pre- and post-analytical testing responsibilities. The position may also perform specified analytical testing as assigned. Adherence to the Code of Conduct, established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, and professional standards is required.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and receive biological specimens.
  • Enter specimen data accurately into the company’s computer system.
  • Prepare samples for analytical testing.
  • Distribute specimens to the appropriate analytical area.
  • Perform pre- and post-analytical testing tasks.
  • Conduct specified analytical testing as assigned.
  • Follow established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum age of 18.
  • High School diploma or equivalent (may be required depending on state regulations).
  • Basic knowledge of department resource materials.
  • Completion of a phlebotomy program or equivalent phlebotomy experience.
  • Phlebotomy certification as defined by state regulations.
  • Position may require DHS Fingerprinting Certification or the ability to obtain it.
  • For float positions: Must be available for travel and flexible hours to cover multiple locations, including mobile phlebotomy facilities and in-office phlebotomy locations with minimal notice. Must be flexible and available based on staffing requirements, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
  • May be required to work occasional on-call duties, weekends, evenings, and early mornings.
  • Progression through career ladder levels II-IV is subject to completion of career ladder requirements.
  • Dependent on department/location, must possess a valid state driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English).
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Additional related education and/or experience.
