About the Role
You will be responsible for obtaining required information and admitting residents in an efficient manner, adhering to current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing long-term care and assisted living facilities. Your role ensures the highest degree of quality care is provided to residents at all times.
Responsibilities
- Work with residents and families on admissions (85% of time).
- Interview residents, guardians, family members, or responsible parties to obtain required admission information and signatures.
- Provide tours of the facility to interested parties, including residents, family members, community referrals, and guests.
- Supply residents with admission information packets (e.g., resident rights, notice of privacy practices, admissions contract).
- Collect, assemble, and verify admission paperwork.
- Admit residents in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Prepare identification records for residents.
- Maintain a current listing of all residents and assigned room numbers.
- Track inquiries, denials, rejections, admissions, and related information in appropriate programs.
- Abstract information from records as authorized/required for insurance companies.
- Review and explain room rates, billing procedures, guest privileges, and resident care procedures to residents and/or guardians.
- Maintain a resident waiting list.
- Work with the Administrator to identify and develop an Admission Support Team, including department heads.
- Assist with implementing Marketing Plan tactics, such as special events for community education and establishing the facility as an expert in skilled nursing, specialty programs, and rehabilitation care.
- Monitor and evaluate customer satisfaction surveys.
- Demonstrate a passion for caring through interactions with co-workers, residents, families, and visitors.
- Perform all other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Knowledge of reimbursement regulations, nursing practices, and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to nursing facility administration.
- Marketing experience in a hospital setting.
- Proficiency with computer systems, applications, and office equipment.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university preferred; Associate’s Degree with related clinical experience considered.
- Experience: Two years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
Work Environment
- Works in all areas of the facility.
- Moves intermittently during working hours and is subject to frequent interruptions.
- Involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies, etc., under all conditions and circumstances.
- Subject to hostile or emotionally upset residents, family members, etc.
- Communicates with maintenance personnel, nursing staff, and other department supervisors.
- May work beyond normal duty hours, on weekends, or in other positions temporarily when necessary.
- Subject to call-back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster).
- Exposed to potential injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminants.
- Exposed to infectious waste, diseases, conditions (e.g., TB, AIDS, Hepatitis B viruses), and hazardous chemicals.
Physical and Sensory Requirements
- Must relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, or hostile individuals within the facility.
- Must meet general health requirements, including a mental and physical examination.
- Must possess adequate sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics to enable these senses to function for the role.
- Must push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a height of 5 feet and carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
- May assist in evacuating residents during emergencies.

This is a full-time position with benefits.
Must maintain a valid, unrestricted Colorado driver’s license. Classification: non-exempt.
