Position: Hospital Lab Director (ASCP)

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement laboratory policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory standards and best practices
• Manage and supervise laboratory staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
• Oversee the acquisition, maintenance, and calibration of laboratory equipment and supplies
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and procedures
• Maintain quality control and assurance programs
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient and timely delivery of laboratory services
• Manage laboratory budget and expenses
• Keep up-to-date with advancements in laboratory technology and make recommendations for equipment upgrades
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of laboratory results to healthcare providers
• Address and resolve any issues or concerns related to laboratory operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Medical Technology or related field
• ASCP certification required
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a hospital laboratory setting
• Previous experience in a leadership or management role preferred
• Strong knowledge of laboratory regulations and compliance standards
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Proficient in using laboratory information systems and other relevant software
