Job Summary
Performs a variety of general, mechanical, and preventative maintenance tasks as well as inspections, servicing repair and overhaul of equipment and facilities of the medical centers.
Essential Functions
- Operates, troubleshoots, adjusts and performs complicated repairs and/or schedules and coordinates others on various types of electrical and mechanical equipment
- Serves as a mentor and provides instruction and training to fellow caregivers on the safe and proper installation, operation and maintenance of various mechanical and electrical systems and equipment
- Estimates parts and materials needs and develops purchase requisitions
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment and systems
- Preferred: Supervisory experience in a maintenance environment
- Education: Apprenticeship Preferred: or other equivalent post high school formalized training
Credentials
- Required: Upon Hire Drivers License and Required: Upon Hire Fingerprinting - State of Alaska for positions in Alaska
- Required: Demonstrated ability in records and projects organization, quality control and successful time management
- Required: Good computer, keyboarding and data entry skills
- Required: Demonstrated ability to read and interpret complicated mechanical and electrical drawings and specifications, and procedure manuals

Working Conditions
- Lifting: Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures
- Frequent up to 30 lbs., occasional up to 50 lbs.
- Continuous moving around area
- Occasional reaching/ bending/ stooping, grasping
- Occasional pushing/pulling 15 lbs. sustained force with frequent stop/start
- Occasional climbing ladders/stairs
- Occasional squatting/kneeling/ crawling
- Occasional push/pull up to 50 lbs. force

Environmental Conditions
- Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles
- Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment
- Exposure to outside temperatures (seasonal)
- Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals
- Time spent on site in medical/hospital setting
Mental/Visual Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted)

Pay
The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $36.83 – $55.25. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.
