About the role

Join Elevate Patient Financial Solutions as a Hospital Based Bilingual Patient Advocate and help guide individuals through their healthcare financial journey. This full-time position is located 100% onsite at a hospital in Nashua, NH, with a Monday-Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Local travel is required. Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to drive your own car.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patient eligibility for federal, state, and county medical or disability assistance programs through bed-side visits and in-person interactions.
  • Guide patients through the application process, ensuring thorough completion and follow-up.
  • Document all cases worked in both MPower and the hospital systems.
  • Provide exceptional customer service at all times.
  • Maintain assigned work queue of patient accounts.
  • Collaborate with hospital staff, case managers, social workers, and financial counselors.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls, make outbound calls, and track paperwork in MPower for prospective Medicaid patients.
  • Maintain structured and timely contact with the applicant and responsible government agency, by phone whenever possible or as structured via the daily work queue.
  • Assist the applicant with gathering any additional reports or records, meeting appointment dates and times, and arranging transportation if warranted.
  • Request home visits as needed to acquire documentation.
  • Inform the client in a timely manner of all approvals and denials of coverage.
  • Attend ongoing required training to remain informed about current rules and regulations related to governmental programs, and apply updated knowledge when working with patients and cases.
  • Maintain regular and timely attendance.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or GED preferred, except when required by our client.
  • Prior hospital experience preferred.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Adaptability when dealing with constantly changing processes, computer systems, and government programs.
  • Professional experience working with state and federal programs.
  • Proficient experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel and Outlook.
  • Fluent in both Portuguese and English.
  • Ability to multitask and function in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to dress in accordance with the respective Client’s Dress Code.
