Hospice Registered Nurse

Responsibilities

• Apply nursing theories and concepts to provide comprehensive patient care.
• Document care in accordance with reimbursement guidelines.
• Coordinate physical care with patients, families, physicians, and the hospice team.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and agency personnel at all levels.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team (IDT) meetings and quality reviews.
• Attend team meetings and participate in quality reviews.
• Adhere to background check and drug-free workplace policies.

Requirements

• Current RN licensure in the state of practice.
• Successful completion of nursing education from an approved school.
• Two years of clinical nursing experience; hospice experience preferred.
• Knowledge of home health and hospice care frameworks, policies, and reimbursement guidelines.
• Completion of 12 hours of continuing education annually.
• CPR certification.
• Ability to travel, with availability for weekend, evening, and holiday call assignments.
