Responsibilities
- Delivery of patient care including personal care (ADLs) such as bathing, body mechanics, nutrition, elimination, and safety procedures
- Performs housekeeping services necessary for patient/family/caregiver health and safety
- Participates in interdisciplinary team conferences (IDT) and special case conferences
- If functioning as a NA I+ 4: provides sterile dressing changes, wound irrigation, ostomy care, oxygen therapy, and limited urinary catheter replacement
- If functioning as a NA II: provides all NA I+ 4 duties plus fecal impaction removal, I.V. fluid assistance, nutritional activities, suctioning, tracheostomy care, and additional wound/ostomy care
- Ensures accurate, complete, and timely clinical documentation per HPCCR guidelines and licensure/certification standards
- Maintains professional accountability, licensure, CPR certification, and CEU requirements
- May perform other duties as required
- Cleans patient rooms and facility areas; ensures proper chemical use and protective equipment
Qualifications
- High School diploma preferred, plus training/certification in a related field required
- Certified Nursing Assistant; maintain current listing status required
- NA must be in good standing with NC Department of Health and Human Services
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- Experience in home care, working with terminally ill and/or geriatrics preferred
