Hospice House Nursing Assistant Nightshift

Responsibilities

  • Delivery of patient care including personal care (ADLs) such as bathing, body mechanics, nutrition, elimination, and safety procedures
  • Performs housekeeping services necessary for patient/family/caregiver health and safety
  • Participates in interdisciplinary team conferences (IDT) and special case conferences
  • If functioning as a NA I+ 4: provides sterile dressing changes, wound irrigation, ostomy care, oxygen therapy, and limited urinary catheter replacement
  • If functioning as a NA II: provides all NA I+ 4 duties plus fecal impaction removal, I.V. fluid assistance, nutritional activities, suctioning, tracheostomy care, and additional wound/ostomy care
  • Ensures accurate, complete, and timely clinical documentation per HPCCR guidelines and licensure/certification standards
  • Maintains professional accountability, licensure, CPR certification, and CEU requirements
  • May perform other duties as required
  • Cleans patient rooms and facility areas; ensures proper chemical use and protective equipment

Qualifications

  • High School diploma preferred, plus training/certification in a related field required
  • Certified Nursing Assistant; maintain current listing status required
  • NA must be in good standing with NC Department of Health and Human Services
  • Minimum 1 year of experience required
  • Experience in home care, working with terminally ill and/or geriatrics preferred
