Hospice Educator
About the Role
As a Home Care Hospice Educator, you will be responsible for the assessment, development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of education for home care with an emphasis on ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. You will work in collaboration with home care managers to ensure orientation, competency, development, and integration of new colleagues, as well as the ongoing development of current staff.
Additional responsibilities include serving as the informatics liaison and providing education regarding competence with multiple types of technologies (computer, electronic health record (Epic), learning management system, etc.) required for each role. The educator also functions as a liaison with schools, colleges, and universities to coordinate student learning activities.
Responsibilities
- Assess, develop, implement, and evaluate education programs for home care staff.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with home care managers on orientation, competency, and staff development.
- Serve as an informatics liaison for technology training (EHR, learning management systems, etc.).
- Coordinate student learning activities with educational institutions.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved Nursing education program (bachelor’s in nursing preferred).
- Ten years of nursing practice, including five in Hospice education or leadership.
- Preferred CPR Instructor Certification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications for creating instructional materials.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.

Pay
Pay range: $40.44–$64.70 per hour (based on years of experience, education, skillset, and other factors).
