Responsibilities
The Hospice Branch Director is a Registered Nurse who manages all aspects of terminal care and has expertise in pain and symptom management, with previous experience in hospice nursing. Responsibilities include:
- Supervising staff, managing documentation requirements, and overseeing service coordination and case management
- Executing an effective, supportive, and sensitive approach to meet the needs of employees, patients, and their families
- Supervising day-to-day office and clinical operations, including planning, coordination, and delivery of interdisciplinary team interventions
- Assigning appropriate staff members to patients/families and acting as a staff nurse when necessary
- Participating in community awareness and education programs
Qualifications
- Must be a graduate of an approved school of professional nursing and currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment
- Minimum of two years of nursing experience within the past 36 months, including one year of experience in a hospice setting
- Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing hospice operations
- Competency with computers
