About the role

The Hong lab focuses on combining clinical domain knowledge with data science to generate insights from real world data, develop actionable computational and artificial intelligence tools, and evaluate the benefit of these advances for personalized cancer care. We have a specific interest and expertise in artificial intelligence machine learning, natural language processing (including large language models), computational data extraction, and imaging analytics. We apply these methods to identify new knowledge regarding clinical practice and patient outcomes, make actionable predictions, and identify new interventions. Our lab works from end-to-end along the development and implementation pipeline to develop tools for clinicians to make a meaningful difference in patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Data management
  • Implementation and programming of computational tools including machine learning/deep learning algorithms
  • Collaboration with other members of the lab and affiliated groups
  • Support administrative tasks on the team
  • Work closely with other lab members
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Conduct data analyses
  • Prepare for presentations at lab meeting and journal club

Requirements

  • Junior Specialist - Baccalaureate degree (or equivalent degree) or at least four years of research experience.
  • Assistant Specialist - Master’s degree or a baccalaureate degree with 3 or more years of research experience.

Pay

A reasonable estimate for this position is $55,000-$70,700.
