About the role

Right At Home In Home Care, located in Wallingford CT, is currently hiring retirees and veterans looking for new opportunities as a Homemaker/Companion. The ideal candidate will be open to change, willing to learn new skills, and provide companionship and home care assistance to our elderly clients.

Responsibilities

• Assistance with eating, personal hygiene, dressing, shaving
• Light housekeeping and laundry
• Meal preparation and kitchen assistance
• Medication reminders
• Assisting with prescribed range of motion exercises
• Dementia care
• Companionship activities such as reading, music, puzzles

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the job
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Reliable transportation
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to pass a full employment background check
• Basic computer skills and ability to navigate with little assistance

Nice to have

• CNA or HHA Certification
• 6 months of experience as a Caregiver/Home Health Aide in healthcare
• COVID vaccination
• CPR and First Aid Certification
