A Brief Overview

A Home Medical Equipment (HME) Technician II is responsible for the delivery, setup, and maintenance of medical devices—such as hospital beds, wheelchairs, and oxygen concentrators—directly to patients' homes, facility or other living facility.
Educate patients and caregivers on safe equipment operation, perform routine cleaning and safety checks, and maintain accurate delivery documentation.

What You Will Do

• Develop and maintain working knowledge of current HME products and services offered by the company and all applicable governmental regulations.
• Transport equipment safely using company vehicles, manage delivery routes, and coordinate pick-ups of used equipment items.
• Assemble medical devices on-site and provide clear, compassionate demonstrations to patients and families to ensure they understand how to use the equipment safely.
• Completes all required documentation for equipment setups, deliveries, and pickups in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Understand reimbursement guidelines, secure necessary signatures, and document all information required to support proper reimbursement.
• Conduct home visits to perform equipment quality checks and reinforce safe and appropriate equipment use.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and minor repairs according to manufacturer guidelines and company standards.
• Clean and decontaminate equipment per manufacturer instructions and organizational infection control protocols.
• Available for on-call assignments as needed (after business hours &/or weekends).

• The individual must be able to work the hours specified.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily including having visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and the ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds.

Required Education, License/Certification, Or Work Experience

• High School or GED Equivalent or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Drivers License - Licensing Board Upon Hire

Preferred Education, License/Certification, Or Work Experience

• Experience with Medical Equipment
• 1-3 years of related work experience
