About the Role

The Home Medical Equipment (HME) Technician II is responsible for delivering, setting up, and maintaining medical devices such as hospital beds, wheelchairs, and oxygen concentrators directly to patients' homes, facilities, or other living environments. This role involves educating patients and caregivers on safe equipment operation, performing routine cleaning and safety checks, and accurately documenting all activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain knowledge of current HME products and services offered by the company and all applicable governmental regulations.
• Transport equipment safely using company vehicles, manage delivery routes, and coordinate pick-ups of used equipment items.
• Assemble medical devices on-site and provide clear, compassionate demonstrations to patients and families to ensure they understand how to use the equipment safely.
• Complete all required documentation for equipment setups, deliveries, and pickups in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Accurately process transactions, including new customer registration, sales orders, transfers, cash sales, deposits, returns, notes, tasks, autopay, and work-in-progress updates.
• Understand reimbursement guidelines, secure necessary signatures, and document all information required to support proper reimbursement.
• Conduct home visits to perform equipment quality checks and reinforce safe and appropriate equipment use.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and minor repairs according to manufacturer guidelines and company standards.
• Clean and decontaminate equipment per manufacturer instructions and organizational infection control protocols.
• Available for on-call assignments as needed (after business hours &/or weekends).

Requirements

The individual must be able to work the hours specified and have visual acuity adequate to perform position duties, the ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds.

Qualifications

• High School or GED Equivalent or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Drivers License - Licensing Board Upon Hire.

Skills

Experience with Medical Equipment, 1-3 years of related work experience.
