Role And Responsibilities

• The inspector is required to have a basic knowledge of residential home systems and elements and is expected to work in various weather conditions, climb ladders, walk on roofs, access crawl spaces and attics, and stand for long periods of time.
• Solid computer technology skills are necessary for report writing and communications.
• The ideal candidate stays current on latest company initiatives, policies, and procedures, while continually developing advanced technical knowledge in building science.
• Punctuality, the ability to work independently and a strong work ethic are also required.

Qualifications And Requirements

• 2+ years of construction, real estate, or home repair experience required
• Strong understanding of building codes, laws and government regulations
• Degree in construction preferred
• Valid driver’s license
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and a positive attitude
• Physically fit for climbing ladders, walk on roofs, access crawl spaces and attics, and stand for long periods of time
• Able to lift 50 lbs
• May be required to enter homes that contain allergens such as pets, dust, mold, or other

Review Plans Ensuring They Meet Building Codes And Local Ordinances

Inspect plumbing and electrical for code violations and issue violation notices

Keep daily logs, write up reports and take photographs
