About the role
Haven Home Care is hiring caregivers in Summit County, Ohio. We offer various paths to becoming a caregiver, including those with existing certifications, experience, or a desire to learn.
Responsibilities
Every day, you’ll go to people’s homes to help with daily life activities such as baths, dressing, meal preparation, light cleaning, running errands, and providing companionship. This is physically demanding work, and you should be prepared to be on your feet most of the day. If you need assistance with these tasks, let your supervisor know.
Requirements
- Must be able to drive a personal vehicle for work purposes.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and auto insurance covering work-related driving.
- Must be available to work at least 20 hours per week, typically between 6 AM and 8 PM.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
Qualifications
- STNA (Licensed Practical Nurse): Already have an STNA license (active or expired).
- HHA Certificate: Have an HHA certificate (30+ hours) or have worked 1+ year under an RN or LPN.
- New to caregiving: No prior experience required, but must complete a free 32-hour online HHA training course.
Skills
Empathy, reliability, and the ability to follow policies and procedures are essential. You should be comfortable working with a variety of clients and environments.
Benefits
- Competitive hourly rates starting at $16/hour, with potential raises up to $2.00/hour over two years.

Pay
Hourly rates vary depending on your path:
- STNA: $18/hour
- HHA Certificate or Experience: $16-18/hour based on interview
- Free Training: $16/hour
Schedule
Shift lengths can range from 2-3 hours to 8 hours, depending on client needs. Most Home Health Aides have 2-4 regular clients each week, with additional fill-in shifts available.
