About the role
Haven Home Care is hiring in Summit County, Ohio. We offer various paths to becoming a Home Health Aide, ranging from those with existing certifications to those who need training. The hiring process varies depending on your background and experience.
Responsibilities
You will go to people’s homes to help with daily life activities such as baths, dressing, meal preparation, light cleaning, running errands, and providing companionship. This is physically demanding work, and you should be prepared to be on your feet throughout the day. If you need assistance with these tasks, let us know.
Your primary focus is not giving medicine or performing medical tasks. These responsibilities are handled by nurses. You are responsible for ensuring that clients receive proper care and follow the policies set by Haven Home Care.
Requirements
To start, you need to meet one of the following requirements:
- Already have an STNA license (active or expired).
- Have an HHA certificate (30+ hours) and an interview.
- Worked 1+ year under an RN or LPN and have your former employer verify your experience.
- Are new to caregiving and will complete a free 32-hour online HHA training course.
For those who cannot verify their experience, a free online training course is available.
Qualifications
Qualifications include:
- A valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle with insurance covering work driving.
- Availability between 6 AM and 8 PM.
- At least 18 years old.
- Legal right to work in the United States.

Pay
Pay rates vary based on your experience and certification:
- STNA: $18/hour
- HHA certificate or experience: $16-18/hour based on interview
- Free training: $16/hour
- Private pay client you refer: HHA: $19/hour, STNA: $20/hour
Schedule
Shift lengths can range from 2-3 hours to 8 hours, depending on the client's needs. Most Home Health Aides have 2-4 regular clients each week, and additional fill-in shifts are available.
Flexibility
The term "flexible" refers to the days and times you agreed to work during your phone interview. We expect you to stick to these commitments, as attendance is a key factor in determining raises.
