Responsibilities
- Use any or all of the five senses to provide objective feedback on products or items.
- Provide feedback that can be quantitative or qualitative, either on a paper ballot or entered into a computer system.
- Participate in debrief sessions at the end of evaluations to discuss feedback.
- Help in new method development, such as describing or identifying new attributes, benchmarks, or anchors.
- Suggest or improve test methods or evaluation methods.
- Attend and work the agreed hours of the panel.
- Follow company rules on safety, quality, and conduct.
- Follow the protocol for evaluations consistently.
- Keep information, data, products, and methods used in the sensory panel confidential.
- Not participate in consumer research involving household care products.
- Occasionally help with tasks such as labeling, sample prep, clean up, disposal, or providing opinions on samples/concepts.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Sensory panelists will be trained on their work via sensory personnel for new attributes or panel leaders/supervisors for existing attributes.
- To maintain consistency and accuracy, panelists will undergo recalibration and validation/revalidation with the panel leader or supervisor on an ongoing basis.
- Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and analytical skills are essential.
- Comfortable working on a part-time basis is required.
