Histotechnologist - Pathology Lab | Full-Time, Days
NewYork-Presbyterian Queens’ Pathology and Clinical Laboratories Department is accredited by the American College of Pathologists, the New York State Department of Health, and The Joint Commission. The lab examines over 22,000 surgical specimens annually, including 2,000 frozen sections and 750 external consultations, making it one of the largest and busiest Anatomic Pathology labs in New York.
About the role
As a Histotechnologist, you will perform all routine procedures including accessioning of specimens, grossing, embedding, cutting, staining, cover slipping, labeling, and distribution using state-of-the-art equipment. This full-time, day-shift position offers a high level of clinical interaction.
Schedule
- Tuesday – Saturday
- 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Responsibilities
- Accession specimens
- Perform grossing, embedding, cutting, and staining
- Complete cover slipping, labeling, and distribution of specimens
- Operate state-of-the-art laboratory equipment
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
- New York State License as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Histotechnologist, or Clinical Laboratory Technician
Qualifications
- At least one year of experience in Histology (preferred)
- Experience with special staining procedures (preferred)

Pay
Salary range: $94,400 – $118,000 annually. Compensation packages include competitive base pay, recognition for experience, education, and licensure, and additional benefits.
