Histotechnologist - Pathology Lab | Full-Time, Evenings
Location: Flushing, New York
Shift: Evening (Monday - Friday, 3:00 am - 11:00 am)
About the role
The Pathology and Clinical Laboratories Department at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens are accredited by the American College of Pathologists, the New York State Department of Health, and The Joint Commission. The department examines more than 22,000 surgical specimens annually, including 2,000 frozen sections and over 750 consultations from outside the institution. As one of the largest and busiest Anatomic Pathology labs in New York, we set the standard for our field and provide our team with a high level of clinical interaction.
We are seeking a motivated histotechnologist to perform all routine procedures, including accessioning of specimens, grossing, embedding, cutting, staining, cover slipping, labeling, and distribution using state-of-the-art equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform accessioning of specimens
- Conduct grossing procedures
- Embed, cut, stain, and cover slip tissue samples
- Label and distribute prepared slides
- Operate and maintain state-of-the-art histology equipment
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
- New York State License as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Histotechnologist, or Clinical Laboratory Technician
Preferred Qualifications
- At least one year of experience in Histology
- Experience with special staining procedures

Pay
Salary Range: $94,400 - $118,000/Annual
