Histotech Assistant - Histology

About the role

This is a limited-tenure Histotech Assistant position in the Histology Laboratory, responsible for performing technical procedures to support diagnosis and patient care. After two years, you may be eligible for progression. Visa sponsorship and F-1 STEM OPT extensions are not available.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve, verify, and track patient samples
• Accession, process, and stain tissue specimens
• Maintain laboratory equipment and handle hazardous chemicals
• Perform case assembly, distribution, and tissue block/slide filing
• Handle outside/consultation materials and troubleshoot equipment issues
• Prepare reagents, review logs, and manage record retention
• Operate Lab Information System and answer phones
• Specimen photography and case management
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or high school diploma/GED with 2 years of relevant experience
• Preferred: Knowledge of medical terminology, laboratory or leadership experience
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
