Histotech Assistant - Histology

Role: Histotech Assistant in the Histology Laboratory, responsible for performing technical procedures to support diagnosis and patient care. Key Duties Retrieve, verify, and track patient samplesAccession, process, and stain tissue specimensMaintain laboratory equipment and handle hazardous chemicalsPerform case assembly, distribution, and tissue block slide filingHandle outside/consultation materials and troubleshoot equipment issuesPrepare reagents, review logs, and manage record retentionOperate Lab Information System and answer phones Additional responsibilities include specimen photography, case management, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Qualifications & Skills Associate's degree or high school diploma/GED with 2 years relevant experiencePreferred: Medical terminology knowledge, laboratory or leadership experienceStrong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skillsNote: This is a limited tenure role, with eligibility for progression after two years; not eligible for visa sponsorship or F-1 STEM OPT extensions.
