Histopathology Technologists - Signing Bonus

Responsibilities

• Carries out all processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining procedures related to histopathology specimen handling.
• Operates and maintains processors, embedding stations, automated strainers, microtome, cryostats, and other laboratory equipment.
• Cuts sections of high quality using microtomy and cryotomy techniques.
• Sets up technical procedures and ensures the accuracy of all details required for processing frozen and paraffin sections or touch preparations.
• Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of fixation, dehydration, and infiltration processes.
• Performs microtomy and slide preparation for routine histology, special stains, immunohistochemistry, and genetic studies.
• Handles decalcification of bone samples using various acids and combinations.
• Executes special stains and immunohistochemistry procedures, including manual and automated methods.
• Maintains equipment, performs quality control reviews, and manages chemical and antibody inventories.
• Keeps accurate records and files tissue blocks and slides.
• Repairs broken and damaged slides.

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years’ work experience in a histology laboratory.
• Current certification for HT through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent.
• Knowledge of tissue morphology, embedding, sectioning, and staining reactions.
• Basic computer knowledge.

$85,000.00 - $1,500 signing bonus
