Histology Technician-Lead (OHOPD Medicine Dermatology MCC)

Responsibilities

• Prepares tissue specimens for routine and special procedures.
• Performs complex histologic procedures and analyzes and corrects problems.
• Maintains instruments according to established protocols.
• Trains associate and intermediate technicians.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience using automated equipment and instruments including microscopes, microtomes, and other lab equipment.
• Recent experience working with a wide variety of tissues in a laboratory or clinical setting.
• Accuracy and thoroughness; monitors own work for quality.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Education

• A high school diploma or GED is required.

Required Skills

• Six (6) years of histological experience is required.
