Medical Technologist, Lead (Histology)

How You'll Contribute

• Performs procedures/protocols in Cytology, Histology, and Pathology.
• Receives and assigns accession numbers to tissue and fluid specimens and logs them into the AP computer system.
• Processes curettings and routine TUR and bone marrow specimens.
• Reports any abnormal or suspicious appearing specimens.
• Prepares sections of body tissue specimens by fixation, decalcification, dehydration, and embedding for examination by a pathologist.
• Maintains work area in a safe, aseptic, and organized manner.
• Performs and monitors quality control, calibration, and corrective/preventative maintenance on equipment, instruments, and tests.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum work experience: 2 years in clinical specialty, 1 year previous Lead Tech or management experience.
• Preferred minimum education: Bachelor's degree.
• Required qualifications: Valid driver license, Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP), ASCP or equivalent registration.
• Skills required: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

This is a MAST union position. The position offers a $7,500 sign-on bonus for external eligible candidates.
